Astrophysicist Yoji Kondo, PhD, alias science fiction Author Eric Kotani, died on October 9th, 2017. Dr. Kondo was a teacher, a popular lecturer at cons, a black belt in judo and aikido, and a recipient of the Isaac Asimov Memorial Award (2002) and the Robert A. Heinlein Award (2013). His published works included five novels with collaborator John Maddox Roberts and the Robert Heinlein tribute volume Requiem, on which he served as editor.
