50th Anniversary of the Legion of Super-Heroes
Come back to the future with us. A different future. An optimistic future. One of blues skies, chrome, flying cars, and flight rings! (You thought we were gong to say jet packs weren't you? It's okay- we got those too!) Created by Jim Shooter (a teenager himself at the time) the Legion is an utopian teenage superhero fantasy at it finest. Picture Archie comics with the X-Men's comradely vibe and a smooth Jetson's chaser.

Captain America Would NEVER "Heil" Hydra
What made the writers of the "Captain America is a Secret Nazi" storyline think that such an arc would go over well? And what made the *owners* think that it would be a good idea to try to make the employees of the stores that sell their comics to dress up as members of an organization that canonically grew out of the nazi party?

Transmetropolitan: Twenty Years Ago Today...
Forget Bladerunner 3049- let's talk about the book that really picked up the baton. Picture if you will Hunter S. Thompson in a Philip K. Dick world that is all just a metaphor for the 1974 US election. One of the best political satires this side of The New Statesmen, and it's just about hit the legal drinking age...You've been warned.

Hail To The King: Kirby at 100
Jack "THE KING" Kirby: There is hardly a comic that hasn't been influenced if not guided by Kirby- other than the many he created himself. Both the Marvel and DC film franchises are using his ideas, designs, and creations as the upcoming climaxes to their movie universes. On what would have been his hundredth year upon the planet, we give The King his due.

Are Comics Becoming More Diverse- Or Just Doing What They Always Did?
Maybe the the road that we're calling 'diversity' should just be called 'Young Adult'. Comics have been chasing that audience since Archie. From Spider-Man to the Legion, Nova to Milestone, Warlock to Love & Rockets, Ms. Marvel to...Ms. Marvel. And did we mention Harley and Ivy are hanging out with Betty & Veronica?
